WTF IS GOING ON?

Two days ago, was shoplifting...

And today a brawl between two customers...
OMFG... WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON???
I sorry, but currently i'm more emtional than ever...
Two days ago was shoplifiter and that let me already non-stop thinking about it.
But the brawl today of those customers was intensive...

I'm still under shock... everything happened so fast, and seemed so unreal...

I didn't saw everything right from the beginning, because i tidied the products (lining up and in row) at behind some stacked stocking/products of beverage.
(our Super Market is devided in two buildings, on one side is the main Market with all kind of stuff, while the other building is beverage only)
Right after heard the shout i ran to to place. And saw how someone is hitting a man on the ground.
I noticed/recognized that the man on the floor is a family father with a daughter 2-3 years old only.
The little girl is crying and her father getting hit by the other guy...
I didn't know what to do, so i ran to the microphone of the cashpoint-machine and called for the vice store manager. (Store Manager left already)
I went back, and shouted at that man to stop, but he continues to hit the family father.
So i went between... but it was too late the father have already a bloody head.
The Vice Store Manager called the police and ambulance....
We managed somehow to keep still the amok/berserker until the police came... and the handeld the rest...
The ambulance took the father (seemed to be nothing serious, only a small laceration), while the police took the guy.

Later on got the information, that the amok guy is a drug junky... and through the drugs he got some serious problems with his brain...
After i heard this it made me even more shocked and sad...
Because the father is not at fault at all and suddenly got attack by a mad man, especially the poor girl! She could only watch, how her father get attacked and getting hit on the ground by a crazy a$$hole.

I'm so speechless after this... in the one hand i'm glad that it didn't become/escalate into a more worse situation, but in the other hand is (also what provokes me a lot more)
why in the f*cking world did the other customers just watched as it happend? There where about 6 or 8 other people arround. but they just f*cking watched until i jumped in!
They did nothing than just watching until the police came! The younger people even just took photos or recorded it....
WHAT IN THE F*CKING WORLD ARE WRONG WITH THEM? It can't really be that 6 or 8 people didn't got the idea to stop that guy!
I mean I know that this happens alot.... but i feel so terrified about the fact that nobody helped or supported me or the man on the ground.
They just watched, like birds, world of tanks players... or God. God also do nothing/intervene to stop (something) evil...
